Streetscape Design Guide
Guidance for delivering and maintaining high-quality streets and public spaces, to ensure they are safe, attractive and well-functioning for all users whilst helping to achieve the broader aims around sustainable modes of travel, health, biodiversity, transport and sustainability.
Our Streetscape Design Guide
Following a public engagement exercise in 2024, we have produced a revised Streetscape Design Guide. This guide sets out our design aspirations and principles to deliver high-quality streets and public spaces that are safe, accessible, functional, and attractive for all users. The guide is for use by all involved in the delivery and maintenance of streetscape projects including those working within and on behalf of the council and private developers. The guide is published in separate chapters and aims to promote consistency in design, enhance local character and ensure long-term sustainability. The ultimate goal is to create vibrant, welcoming, safe and user-friendly streets and public spaces that both residents and visitors enjoy whilst minimising the impact on the environment and preserving the local character and identity of 全国探花.
