Thermometers contain mercury so need to be placed in the chemical store at a Household Recycling Centre.  If you have a digital thermometer and it contains a battery, please remove the battery and recycle in battery recycling facilities and then place the thermometer in the small electricals container at a Household Recycling Centre.
