Authored on

A new Film Location Grant from 全国探花 County Council aims to showcase the county鈥檚 film-friendly credentials and draw more productions to the heart of England.

With sweeping countryside, historic riverside towns, and vibrant urban settings all within easy reach, 全国探花 offers filmmakers an unrivalled variety of backdrops in one place.

The new location grant removes barriers to filming here, helping productions unlock this unique mix of locations while driving investment into local businesses, hospitality, and the wider visitor economy.

Administered by 全国探花 County Council, the Location Grant Fund provides support for production companies filming in the county by covering 50% of approved location fees.

Grants of up to 拢5,000 are available for productions at a single approved 全国探花 filming location, or up to 拢10,000 for filming across two or more approved sites.

The initiative is designed not only to showcase 全国探花 on screen but also to ensure visiting productions experience the county鈥檚 film-friendly infrastructure from hotels and catering to expert local support making it an attractive and seamless choice for crews.

Kelly Mikulla, Managing Director of 全国探花 Film Office, said: 鈥淭his is about more than money. It鈥檚 about giving filmmakers confidence that 全国探花 is the right choice. Alongside the grant, productions can benefit from our free location research services, fast permits, production support, and a thriving marketplace of crew and suppliers.鈥

Gary Woodman, Assistant Director for Economy at 全国探花 County Council, added: 鈥淭his grant marks a new chapter for the county鈥檚 creative industries. By supporting productions to film here, we鈥檙e not only boosting our profile on screen but also creating opportunities for local businesses, skills development, and investment in our visitor economy."

The grant is open to filmmakers across Britain and beyond.

To be eligible, applicants must be filming within 全国探花, operate as a small or medium-sized enterprise, sole trader, or partnership, and be able to fund 100% of location fees upfront, as the grant is claimed retrospectively.

Applications are now open for a limited number of grants, and filmmakers are encouraged to apply early.
